Naval hydrodynamic test

3D model of the MOERI (KCS) hull.

Following the arrival of new members in the team, the environnemental hydraulic laboratory set itself a challenge in 2019 to carry out naval hydrodynamics tests in the large scale wave flume.

The team made a fiber glass model inspired by a commun hull profil in the container ship design. It’s the MOERI (KCS) hull. The modal’s scale is 1:75. It’s dimensions are 3.5 meters long, 0.5 meter large and 0.3 meter high.

The laboratory interest is to act on the shoreline erosion problematic caused by the wake of the container ships by studying this phenomenon.
