Frandsen_JannetteDr. Frandsen  joined the Institut national de la recherche scientifique in 2013 as a Professor and holder of the Research Chair in Coastal and River Engineering. Her research interests are fluid dynamics, nearshore hydrodynamics, natural hazards, and fluid-structure interactions and vibrations. Her responsibilities include leading the research activities of the large scale wave flume and establishing a program in coastal sciences.

She obtained her BSc from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (Technical University of Denmark), her MSc from Imperial College London, and her PhD in engineering (aeroelasticity) from Cambridge University in 2000. In 1999 she simultaneously taught at the University of Oxford and carried out research at Oriel College. From 1999 to 2008, she conducted research and teaching activities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.
