LHE overview

lhe_enbrefThe Environmental Hydraulics Laboratory (LHE) is part of the Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre, one of the four research centres of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). INRS is affiliated with the University of Quebec   – which is comprised 11 universities and schools.

    • Our aim is to address coastal engineering problems within the province of Quebec and globally from fundamental research to applied engineering projects. We seek to improve the understanding of wind-driven waves and ocean-structure-seabed interactions.
    • Our research revolves around large scale flume experiments, field campaigns as well as the development and validation of numerical free-surface models. In all of these areas, the Quebec Environmental Hydraulics Laboratory offers research services to other universities, industry and government stakeholders.
